3 Of My Favorite Purchases This Winter.

Without a doubt I have a few things this winter that have totally updated my winter wardrobe and I love wearing.

100% at the top of this list is my Aldo Combat Boots, $140. You may have already had a clue based on how often they are in my daily #OOTD posts. A Combat boot is a totally new style for me and I am wearing them with literally everything from sweatpants and Jeans to skirts and dresses. They give every outfit a little edge and are the perfect heel height to run around in all day.

Next on the list is my Zara Black Balloon Sleeve sweatshirt,$19.99. I may not post this as much as I am actually wearing it, but its the first thing I throw on when I don’t know what to wear and on weekends with my kids its for sure a staple part of my outfit. The puff sleeves make it a little more than just a regular black sweatshirt and I love that I can just throw it in the wash and don’t need to worry about dry cleaning. Definitely a great addition for more casual style.

And last but not least my #00TN would just not feel complete without this next purchase, the Amazon black leather pouch clutch…the one that looks like the Bottega Veneta clutch which sells for $2700. It holds everything and more, and for under $35 it just that fabulous.

A Basic White Tee Is All You Need Right Now!

This time of year I always struggle to find something to wear.  I don’t want to wear my winter clothes and even though temps are rising, its still too cold to jump into full on spring wardrobe. So what do I wear?  Whenever I am having a wardrobe slump I usually like to take it back to the basics. And for this time of year what better basic than a white T-shirt.    A basic White Tee goes with everything from jeans and sweats to pants and skirts.  It can be fashionable enough to wear on its own or layer it under a sweater, blazer or jacket.  When it comes to finding the perfect White T, its all about the fit and fabric.  I love this one from Free People for $38, its soft, not too sheer or too thick, and cuts just below the waist of my jeans.  So if your feeling anything like me this time of year, take it back to the basic white Tee.  Here are some celebrity looks for outfit inspiration!

Happy Shopping!

Update Your Wardrobe With These Fall Trends.

You don’t need a new wardrobe for fall, all you need is to add a few of the seasons hot trends and mix them into your current fall wardrobe.  Check out these instant wardrobe updates….

Ruffles, ruffles and more ruffles.   Its obvious I cant get enough of ruffles, but lucky for me they are one of falls hottest trend.  Whether they are on a sweater or blouse just love the way they add a bit of girly fun to any outfit.

Denim is a great way to update your look. Its easy to wear casual or dressed up, so even though denim pricing have creeped up on us all, its something you wear all the time so worth it.  This season, a raw Hem and/or ripped jean is super chic so adding one or both is a great way to keep in style.

Something Velvet- whether its is boots or a top velvet the hot fabric of the season.

The Small Cross Body Bag.  Adding the “It bag” of the season is a great way to update your fall clothes without even purchasing any clothes.   Both high-end designers to less expensive brands are making fabulous cross body bags so there is something in every price range.   Its the perfect bag to accessorize any outfit new or old.

This Seasons Shoe Trends On A Budget

Aquazzura Velvet Booties

This season, shoes are making a big statement; sparkles, metallics, bright white, velvets and a lot of embellishments.  Although I think most of the shoes are fun, spending $500 on a “fun” pair of shoes is not in my shopping budget.   With that being said, I need to find shoes that will keep my look in style, but won’t use up my entire shopping budget for the season.  My first mission was for velvet booties.  The texture of velvet is so rich and I love all the jeweled toned colors designers are showing, but I know I will get the most out of black.  I’m super particular about the seams and quality of the velvet, which to me shows the difference between the designer quality and the cheaper versions, so although everyone is copying the velvet boot, I was in search of that perfect pair.   My champagne tastes love the velvet booties from Gianvito Rossi for $975, but my actual budget, being far less, came up with these much less expensive options. Barney’s brand blue velvet booties for $395 and even better, Sole Society’s black velvet bootie for only $99

My next search was for a silver bootie. Silver and white are like the new black this season.  Throw it on with anything and it works.  As usual the designers version are Ah-mazing, but will easily start at $500, but I was able to find some less expensive fun options at ASOS for $69 and Zara.

The last shoe trend I wanted to try is an embellished boot.  I love the Pearlbacari Embellished Suede Bootie by Stuart Weitzman which starts at $525.  Such a fun shoe, but its not a shoe I would wear everyday.  It was nearly impossible to find something that looked as good as the designer and the only boots that even came a little close was the Harper Block Heel Bootie for $129 by Eloquii.

The shoes this season are definitely fun, but I really need to get them home and play a little dress up and see how they look with my wardrobe.   Stay tuned for the follow up…shoes with outfit ideas 🙂

Becoming High Maintenance

Im constantly doing maintenance. Every time I sit down I feel like I’m in a salon.  In my 20s it was just a mani pedi, and waxing.  In my 30s my basic mani upgraded to gel and then I added spray tan, keratin, color, eyelashes and botox.  Here I am approaching 40 and I am honestly scared I may end up living in a salon.  It changed from a luxury, a relaxing experience, when I had time, to a necessity.  So by now its become literally a chore.  Where does it end??? Im a slave to beauty and I only see if getting worse!   Anyone else feel like this? What are your upkeep necessities?

Wanted List

The  temperatures have been super high, so I am really feeling clothes that are light and flowy.  I always love a casual dress as oppose to two pieces (top and bottom) since its a simple way to have a complete outfit with little effort.  And a Casual day dress can easily take you into the night, with the simple change of a flat shoe to a wedge or heel.  So dresses have been my go to for the Summer!  I have also been on the hunt for the perfect summer bag to bring out to dinner.   It was so hard to find exactly what I wanted because I’ve been seeing so many of the straw bags or the canvas style (which I love), but nothing that would work for the evening.  I wanted something that had a beachy style, but was more sophisticated than a straw bag.  Something that worked for both casual dinner with the kids or on a date night with my hubby.  Check out what I found and my “Wanted List” for this this week…
